my tanning favs
Trying to stay tan is a STRUGGLE from about October - April before the beach days hit. I am not a fan of the tanning bed and always chicken out before booking a spray tan so I have found a few products I love using in the meantime! All of these products can be applied generously, or just a little for a subtle glow depending on what look you’re going for :) links to shop all of these items can be found on my “SHOP MY LOOKS” page, or you can always message me for a link.
ALL OVER GLOW : Ulta Tanning Mousse
The first tanning mousse I used was St. Tropez and I was such a fan, but its a little pricier so I wanted to find another option. I apply all over with a mit to not stain my hands and then leave it on for 1-2 hours before rinsing off. The best part about mousse is that its hard to miss a spot, it also goes on as foam so its not streaky like a lotion! After you have let it sit, rinse of quickly (don’t scrub off) in the shower and you can see your glow. I do not use this on my face, but it does say that its okay to do so on the bottle.
2. FOR YOUR FACE : Jergens Natural Glow
This product is completely made for your face! No pore clogging and goes on light! I have had issues in the past with other face products making me super oily or causing streaks on my neck, but Jergens blends nicely and is great for every day. I usually put it on every night after I shower and wash my face and can notice a difference in the morning, its definitely subtle but keeps up nice color
3. FOR ALL OVER : Isle of Paradise drops
Totally worth the hype! I know everyone and their mom has been trying this product and it is so worth it. I use this when I need an “instant glow” like the night before a big event! I have also used it on my face, but only a tinnnnnnny drop mixed in with my favorite face lotion to blend. For best results I have found that a drop in my regular lotion is perfect for application, but of course add more if you’re looking for something more dramatic. You will be able to see a result the next day, so apply liberally if putting on your face! It works soooo good so you don’t want too much!
For my face, I love Drunk Elephant’s Polypeptide creme. It’s so soft and has really evened out my skin tone. It’s a little pricey but has lasted me almost 6 months so it is worth it. My favorite scent lately has been anything verbena so when I found the H20 Coconut Verbena lotion at Ulta I had to get it, and its a great mixer with the tan drops for all over.
have a favorite?! let me know!
