Jekyll Island Club Hotel
My favorite place in the world! There are many reasons why we love Jekyll Island, hence why we picked it for the wedding, but I wanted to share a little bit more about the venue and all that it has to offer! For starters, everywhere you turn is so beautiful - you could walk for miles and find a new place to explore around every corner. We wanted to have our wedding at the same place our family and guests could stay, could eat, and even go out adventuring on their own if they wanted!
When you first get onto Jekyll, the Club Resort is always my first stop! It’s history is rich and evident as soon as you pull up. The hotel itself has wrap around porches and boasts large rooms with sitting areas and a variety of restaurants. Hotel guests can enjoy the pool, rent bikes, or walk along the sidewalks that border the beautiful marshes. The resort is made up of the historical hotel but also multiple historical homes turned hotel rooms and suites that are available. The Georgia Sea Turtle Center, MOSAIC museum, and a variety of shops are also scattered around the property for you to venture into!
If you’re looking for a spot to eat the Grand Dining Room is just that, GRAND. Great for a special occasion or a morning after wedding breakfast like we did! There is also The Wharf out on the dock, great live music, and the market on the porch of the hotel that serves coffee and sandwiches. Jekyll Island itself has lots more options as well if you’re up for a drive or bike ride to get there!
During our planning process, we knew we wanted to have our rehearsal dinner on site as well - we stayed in one of the many cottages (our families filled the rooms) and we had our rehearsal dinner in the larger foyer downstairs. It was so nice to have everyone all in one place!
Staying at the Club Hotel is such a treat! The staff is so friendly, offering all that southern charm you would expect for a hotel on the waters of Georgia, and you are truly made to feel welcome! Many of the rooms offer private porches, large vaulted ceilings, marsh views, croquet lawn views, and of course you’re in walking distance to just about everything you could need at the hotel. We were lucking enough to get a room with a fantastic view of the pool and marsh, with our own deck for morning coffee. I’m sure we will be spending lots of time here celebrating our love and marriage in the future!
