Weekend Guide to Nashville
MUSIC CITY YOU ARE SO MUCH FUN! This past weekend Tillis and I met in Nashville for a little getaway and had such a good time! Since he is on the road a lot for work, I love when I get the opportunity to meet him somewhere along the way. We have been to Nash a few times before, but never gotten to explore like we love to do! Ya’ll know I love a good airbnb so I had so much fun swiping through them online and then landed on a cute little suite in the bottom floor of a historical house in the 12th South area, this is THE BEST area to stay in because you can walk so many places!
You can view the listing here, https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/20271121?source_impression_id=p3_1564678225_llL5jnioWEWBuVQs , and use this link for a discount, https://www.airbnb.com/c/dowlingp1?currency=USD ! It was the cutest place!
We had two days and two nights here so plenty of time to explore the area, we did spend most of our time in 12th South, but I also recommend The Gulch and Hillsboro Village for some cool spots to see! Below are some recs for our favorite places from our trip! Also - rent a Lime scooter and scoot all around town :))
Proper Bagel was right around the corner from our place! We got bagel sandwiches and coffee, but they have a tonnnnn of unique flavors of cream cheese - like cheesecake and cookie dough!
Five Daughters Bakery has multiple locations, but this one was right in the heart of 12th South! So many options of doughnuts and sandwiches with cute wall murals all over the porch to eat by! We got the cake batter doughnut with sprinkles and it was SO GOOD!
Franklin Juice Co for smoothies, acai, or coffee! I got a smoothie here and YUM it was so good! The bowls also looked amazing, perfect for while you’re taking a walk around!
The Grilled Cheeserie is Tillis; favorite spot! We go everytime we’re in town and HE LOVES IT. Tons of Grilled Cheese sandwich options, or salads :) , and loaded tator tots. They also have a milkshake bar! It’s also within walking distance of Vanderbilt’s campus in the Hillsboro Village area, a really fun spot to walk around!
For dinner we went to BARTACO and I am so glad we did! We walked here too which was so nice and both got a mix of tacos and seasoned corn. I have heard amazing things about their margaritas as well!
Find some walls! Nashville is known for its wall murals so we found a few!
We found the first on the side of the Madewell store and the second across from Draper James, thats where my headed pic with the blue stripes was also! You can also find more in The Gulch area and downtown.
I have seen pics of Amelia’s Flower Truck all over instagram and was so happy when we walked right past it! They post everyday where they are, @ameliasflowertruck , and they have lots of beautiful flowers everyday in their old school VW bus!
Ya’ll know I love shopping! Nahshville has the cutest little boutiques, but by far my favorite was getting to go into the Outdoor Voices store - the CUTEST workout wear! This place is so stylish inside and the girls working were all so kind. I love getting to try on some pieces I have only ever seen online. They really have the best stuff!
During the day we also visited the Parthenon, a full scale replica of the actual one in Greece and went to the country music hall of fame! There was a full Kacey Musgraves exhibit that I loved getting to walk through, and of course Tillis enjoyed checking out Elvis’ Cadillac. Just the right amount of tourist fun in there :) Let me know if you’re heading to Nash and need more recs, I would love to share with you.
